Detailed History
This limited edition Vantage Le Mans – number ‘37’ of 40 – is finished in Bowland Black and was delivered with the V600 package installed alongside the five-speed close-radio transmission, Supersports exhaust, traction control and an upgraded hi-fi system.

The V8 Vantage Le Mans was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1999, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 1959 Aston Martin victory at the Le Mans 24 hour race, available as both a 550 bhp and a 600 bhp version of the twin supercharged V8.

At a glance the Le Mans appeared to be outwardly similar to the previous Vantage, which was at the time the fastest Aston Martin ever, however upon closer inspection it could be distinguished by a number of unique features – front wing side vents, a ‘nostril’ front grille, improved high-downforce air dam, as well as five-spoke magnesium alloy wheels and extensive chassis upgrades – the Driving Dynamics’ package – to handle performance increases the Vantage had been given over the previous Virage.

This particular V600’s first owner kept the Aston in a dehumidified garage and had it serviced annually at JCT 600 (the original supplier). The second owner purchased the car in June 2012, and since then the Vantage has been back to the Newport Pagnell factory for a complete engine rebuild; a full interior re-trim in black-piped Magnolia hide; refurbishment of the wheels; and a host of other significant works.
