At Aston Martin Works we have retained the original tooling and artisan skills that have sculpted every Heritage Aston Martin model from the very beginning of the David Brown era onwards. Elegant curves and lines that, when created to millimetre-precise accuracy with the same original craftsmanship create that unmistakable Aston Martin style and sense of quality. The fascinating process of hand-rolling and shaping panels on the English Wheel is awe-inspiring. It is art in its own right that produces the most iconic pieces that we are safeguarding for future generations.
During any work undertaken, be that accident repair, or a restoration, every effort is taken to preserve as much as of the original body and chassis as possible – a key consideration for the provenance of the car – with new aluminium sections seamlessly installed into existing panels.
Where an entirely new panel is required, material of identical thickness will be hand-crafted using traditional tools and methods – unchanged for decades – carefully transforming a sheet of alloy aluminium into the instantly recognisable profile of a Heritage Aston Martin.
Prior to fitting panels permanently to the framework, the pre-fit process will ensure that each panel is perfectly aligned, all spacing is correct and consistent and components such as headlights and bumpers fit accurately.
